ABOUT
Tamás Antal was born in May 1982, Budapest and he lives there with his wife and daughter. His life has always been guided by art. He has organized solo exhibitions and has also participated in a number of group exhibitions too. His teacher wrote the following about his work method on the occasion of his first solo exhibition:
``Tamás works primarily as a painter, but he is also interested in different graphic genres, digital imaging, conceptual photography, and has also come up with poetic texts and poems. His poetic personality is also manifested in his paintings. The theme selection, always sensitive to moods and emotional moments, is shaped in a specific way...`` ( András Lengyel )
JOURNEY
He has been studying fine arts, especially painting since 1989. Then he attended the Secondary School of Visual Arts from 1996. After that he studied computer graphics at Decorator School and besides he started to work in the game industry as a texture artist in 2001 and later as a character and environment artist.
He graduated from the Faculty of Visual Arts, University of Pécs in 2009 as a painter. The title of his thesis was ``Imaginatio Vera, also known as the Truth of Imagination.``
Besides painting he has also worked as a graphic designer for advertising agencies and he has gained a number of clients during these years.
He made animated web banners, promotional videos, corporate identity print designs and montages, product design both in 2D and 3D visualization. He designed book covers and illustrated two books. He encountered and was touched by cinematics during university, where he made short films.
He made animations in the following categories: educational, children's programs, sports programs, in addition major musical productions' graphic designs and animations, VFX in post productions & character animations.
THOUGHTS
``I'm experimental by nature, so I work with different materials and use different techniques. As a visual artist, I seek connections between digital and traditional art through an abstract and impressionistic way. I am searching for 'flow' experience, the solutions for painting and for conceptual problems. I like either minimalism or chaos to create moods and new worlds. As I am a fan of synthesis of the arts, I sometimes create audio materials to my works.
I have dedicated all my efforts to gain my artistic freedom. I hope one day I will be able to create the ideal atmosphere for creation and balance between my digital and traditional painting workflow...`` ( Tamás Antal )
